Jonathan is a strong advocate for education. A graduate of John Gray High School, Jonathan attended the International College of the Cayman Islands and was awarded an associate’s degree in banking. While pursuing his studies, he also worked at various financial institutions including Cayman National Bank, British American Bank (now Fidelity) and Barclays Bank Plc. He went on to graduate magna cum laude from Florida A&M University with a degree in business, and was presented with the Superior Scholastic Performance Award. Jonathan was proud to be part of the youth-coordinated voter registration drive for the 2005 elections, encouraging citizens to understand the issues facing the country and get involved in the process of choosing our leaders.
Jonathan is highly-respected within the finance business community. Upon completion of his degree, Jonathan returned to the Cayman and accepted employment at the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority where he worked as a Bank Analyst. During this time, he continued his education by completing the Trust and Estate Practitioner's Diploma (TEP). In 2005 Jonathan joined Butterfield Bank (Cayman) Limited and is currently employed as a Senior Risk Analyst within the Enterprise Risk Management Department of the Bank. He presented to the George Town Seventh-Day Adventist Church about the global financial crisis and ways to prepare for the difficult times ahead.
Jonathan will preserve Cayman’s environment for our children. An outdoorsman and sports enthusiast, Mr. Piercy also enjoys reading and spending time with his family and friends. He is very active in his community and has assisted many young Caymanians in finding employment. At the Commonwealth Youth Club Jonathan played a key role in getting streetlights installed and having derelict vehicles removed in order to create a safer environment for the community. Jonathan is the proud father of two boys, Ahmaree and Javid, ages 10 and 9.
