Ellio cares about people and is proud of Caymanian heritage. He is married to Betsy Lazzari from the Sister Island of Cayman Brac, they have been together for over 21 years. They are the proud parents of 3 daughters Samantha, Sydney and Shawn ages 21, 17 and 8 respectively. In 2001, Ellio launched CayPolitics.com, an online news and political website to educate the public and provide a forum to discuss important issues.

Ellio is extremely knowledgeable about the issues. He had a 12-year career in Government, serving as technical support and procurement manager and overseeing a staff of 17 of in Computer Services Department. He has done degree level studies in electronic engineering, business administration, financial management and labour economics, before chairing the infrastructure committee that drafted legislation to improve telecom pricing and services through competition. Ellio joined Rooster 101 FM in 2006, hosting a popular political talk show. He has his finger on the pulse of the country and possesses a deep understanding of the issues facing the Cayman Islands and its people. He believes the country will require new and innovative ideas, and the employment of technological know-how to resolve many of the challenges we face.

Ellio is a tireless worker in support of our communities. Ellio organizes an annual drive to buy school supplies for George Town students and offered them math tutoring on weekends. He has worked with young parenting programs, teaching computer and math skills for starting a business. He is committed to helping the handicapped, serving as a member of the HSA for the LightHouse School, raising money and volunteering with youth. Ellio regularly attends church services in George Town, is involved in the Watler’s Road Community clean-ups.
