Cline’s success is achieved through hard work. After graduating from the Cayman Islands High School, Mr. Glidden got his engineering qualifications and worked his way up the ranks at Cable & Wireless over a twelve-year career. In 1994, became Managing Director of Caribbean Security Systems, his own company at the time. With Gloria, his wife of 12 years, Cline is raising two sons who are the couple’s pride and joy.

Cline is strongly committed to public service. A founding member of the United Democratic Party, Cline was elected to office in 2000. He was chairman of the government team that successfully negotiated an agreement with Cable and Wireless to end its monopoly; reducing rates and improving services to the people of the Cayman Islands. Cline also led the team that negotiated price reductions and attempted to introduce competition in the electrical utilities industry with the aim of reducing the cost of living.

Cline inspires our youth through his community involvement. Currently serving as president of the Scholars International Sports Club, Cline is a former vice president of Cayman Islands Football Association and a founding member of the West Bay Progressive Youth Club. He has taken a personal interest in the lives of our youth, and served as assistant technical director for Special Olympics Cayman Islands. He is also a founding member and past president of West Bay Community Development Action Committee (CODAC).
